Erika and Drew traveled from Chicago to exchange vows during an intimate ceremony at their family home in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Despite the potential threat of Hurricane Irma making her way up the coast to New England, September 9th turned out to be a gorgeous summer day on Cape Cod – 70 degrees, sunny and very little humidity – basically perfect for an outdoor wedding.
Reflecting on my first conversations with Erika’s mom, I could feel the genuine excitement around perfecting each thoughtful detail for the wedding – especially the gardening! Every element, from the hand sewn table quilts and artfully crafted ceremony arch (both handmade by the bride’s parents) to the maid of honor’s signature cocktail, told a unique story tailored for Erika and Drew. I am ALL about the details… and the puppies! Naturally, I was beyond excited to learn that Birdie, their lovable Mastiff, would be attending the wedding. Her role: guarding the dress (see below). It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!
The day was full of celebration, laughter and happy tears. #allthefeels for sure! If I had to sum it up in one word, it would undoubtedly be “family”, and to say I was honored to be a part of it would be an understatement.
Congratulations, Erika and Drew! I’m so glad that I could share the day with you and your inner circle. 🙂
