The holiday season has a magical way of spreading joy and love. When Kathryn and Nick decided they wanted to get their Newburyport engagement photos during the holiday season, I was ecstatic. There is something so picturesque about the town of Newburyport. It’s actually the place where Kathryn said “yes” to marrying Nick. During their private dinner overlooking the water, he proposed at a historical lighthouse he had booked for dinner. They then met up with their families, which was a pleasant surprise for Kathryn. Capturing their love and the festive spirit around them was a fun way to spend my day.
Before we officially started their photos, we met inside Starbucks to get warmed up while getting to know each other, and I could give them a rundown of how the session would go. Newburyport is a charming coastal town known for its idyllic streets adorned with historic buildings and cute boutiques. It worked perfectly for their session to have the streets looking like a Hallmark movie, but also being able to get some photos in front of the water! As Kathryn and Nick strolled hand in hand, they embraced the festive atmosphere, and you could feel the warmth and coziness from the holidays and their beautiful relationship.
Taking their engagement photos before their wedding day allowed me to get to know them better. We instantly hit it off as we found a lot of common interests we all share, from golf, spending time outdoors and hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, traveling to Florida and cheering on the New England Patriots. We’re also big-time dog lovers and had to chat about our furbabies. It felt like we had known each other forever like friends! Kathryn and Nick were so easy to talk to and we shared a lot of laughs while we were together.
Nick and Kathyn’s engagement session in Newburyport during the holidays was a celebration of their love, the spirit of the season, and the town that holds a special place in their hearts.
