Major cheat night over here at the Dunham house. After looking through all of these photos, I couldn’t resist walking over to the freezer for a bowl of ice cream. Brigham’s “Just Jimmies”… in case you were wondering. 🙂
This e-session was so much fun. Not only did we start our night at Farfar’s for some ice cream, but to my pleasant surprise, Maria told me that a “furry friend” would be joining us. Ice cream AND a pup… not to mention the sweetest bride and groom to-be. Smiles all around! The cherry on top was a gorgeous sunset over the Bluefish River Bridge.
Sometimes you meet new people and feel like you’ve known them forever. That was exactly how I felt after spending time with Maria and Wes.
Their story started when they were young – all the way back in pre-school! Having grown up in neighboring towns and being connected as family friends, their paths crossed through childhood birthday parties and play dates. It wasn’t until college that Wes asked Maria for her number and their next chapter began. Their first date was a long walk on the beach and the rest is history.
This past April – five years later – Maria and Wes took another walk on the beach after a casual afternoon of watching a Bruins game with family. When they arrived at the beach, Maria noticed a photographer taking pictures of stones along the shoreline. Little did she know, it was Wes’ friend from high school, waiting to capture their proposal. After only walking a short way, looking for oyster shells and reflecting on the months prior, Wes got down on one knee – and Maria said YES! He pulled off the perfect surprise, followed by champagne and both of their families back at home awaiting their return.
Maria and Wes will be married in Duxbury next September with a tented reception right on the beach. Yes, Farfar’s ice cream will be served! 🙂
I can’t wait for their big day, and beyond!
xoxo
So special. You both are just lovely.
